Benchmarks for the Ryzen 9 9950X Blender demonstrate significant performance gains over the 7950X.

Something to look forward to: According to the most recent reports, AMD is scheduled to reveal its Zen 5 lineup later this month. The new chips are expected to provide a significant improvement over their predecessors, particularly for those seeking the best 3D modeling, animation, rendering, video editing, and compositing solutions available.

The data was provided by Igor_Kavinski, a user of the Anandtech forum, who over the past few days has been posting Blender benchmarks for the Ryzen 9 9950X at various TDPs. The results provide prospective purchasers with an understanding of the future processor's power efficiency and performance at 90W, 120W, 160W, and 230W.

The Ryzen 9 9950X scored 327.7 points overall at 60W, but 486.9 points at 90W, which was a far higher total. The new chip achieved an extremely amazing 576 points at 120W and 678 points at 160W as well. The Ryzen 9 7950X, in contrast, was only able to get 599.2 points at 170W (source: Hail The Brain Slug). This indicates that the 9950X may be significantly quicker and more efficient than its predecessor.

The fact that the chip Kavinski has access to is merely an engineering sample and not the finished market device makes the scores even more astounding. Because engineering samples are typically utilized for testing and have clock speeds lower than sale SKUs, they may not always provide optimal performance. In this instance, the official 5.7GHz turbo clock of the processor was not met by the 9950X ES's maximum boost speed of 5.62 GHz.

AMD's Precision improvement Overdrive option, which adds a slight performance improvement above the default configuration, was utilised by the Ryzen 9 9950X test system. Additionally, water cooling was included to guarantee that the thermals would never rise over 62 degrees Celsius. We don't currently know the rest of the test PC's hardware specifications.
