Status on WhatsApp: Resharing friends', family's, and coworkers' status updates is simple with WhatsApp.

With a dedicated button, WhatsApp users can easily reshare status updates on their profile. This new functionality is still under testing. The new functionality, which WABetaInfo discovered on the most recent WhatsApp beta version 2.24.16.4 for Android, will be helpful for users who are ardent about resharing status updates on their profile. Instagram, Meta's photo and video sharing network, has long had a feature similar to this.

The next feature, which is currently under development, will give a simple shortcut button to share status updates with others. Users will also be able to customize posts by scaling them or adding emojis to them. It's unclear at this time whether WhatsApp will alert users when their status gets reshared.

Currently, a user cannot re-upload a video or an image in GIF format to WhatsApp; instead, they must snap a screenshot and post the updated status message again. With the next addition, WhatsApp will lessen this inconvenience by providing a simple way for users to share a contact's status update.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is testing a number of new features for users on both Android and iOS, one of which is the option for iPhone users to select between the larger Meta AI model (405B) and the smaller model (70B).

Using its most recent large language model, Llama 3.1, WhatsApp also unveiled a number of new generative AI experiences in a recent release. These capabilities include the ability to create custom avatars and edit photos by deleting objects or changing backgrounds. Additionally, WhatsApp can now create photographs far more quickly than it could in the past, and it even offers previews while an image is being created.
